FALL PRESIDENTS' CUP STANDINGS: BEHREND IN THE
LEAD

Penn State Behrend is in a
familiar position: sitting atop the AMCC
Presidents' Cup standings. The Behrend
Lions garnered 54 points during the fall season,
which included winning the men's cross country
title.
In close pursuit is Penn State Altoona with 49
points. The Lions won two conference
titles in the fall: men's golf and women's
soccer. They are barely ahead of Frostburg
State, with 47 points, one championship
(volleyball) and four runner-up finishes.

FALL SPORTS CLOSE POST-SEASON IN MEMORABLE

In a flurry of weekend activity, AMCC soccer and
volleyball teams represented the conference well
in both NCAA and ECAC tournament competition.
AMCC regular season champion Penn State Behrend
volleyball brought home the hardware in the ECAC
South Region Tournament. As the #3 seed,
they made it to the finals and defeated #4
Cabrini, 3-2. Senior defensive specialist
Brittany Hennessy was named the Most Outstanding
Player of the tournament. She had 30 digs
in the championship and ranks as the school's
all-time leader in that category. Earlier in the week,
Frostburg State fell to Washington-St. Louis,
ranked #4 in the country, in the Great Lakes
region round of the NCAA tournament, 3-0.
In soccer action, the Medaille men put a scare
into five-time national champion Messiah, losing
2-1 in overtime in the NCAA tournament.
Penn St. Altoona's women, undefeated in the
regular season, suffered a 1-0 loss to Otterbein
in their first trip to the national stage.
Meanwhile, the Frostburg State women dropped a
heartbreaker to Swarthmore in the championship
game of the ECAC South tournament, losing on
penalty kicks by a 5-4 margin. Medaille's
women also lost on penalty kicks (4-2) to RIT in
the semifinals of the ECAC Upstate bracket.
At the NCAA Mideast Regional, the Penn St.
Behrend men were the highest finishing
conference team, placing 14th in a field of 43
teams. Sophomore Andy Iams was the fastest
AMCC man, coming in 34th with a time of 26:25.
For the women, Frostburg State had the strongest
conference performance, recording a 14th place
team score. The Bobcats were led by senior
Jennifer Patton who came in 30th with a time of
23:24.
PITT-BRADFORD'S MOORE HITS 1,000 CAREER POINT

Senior guard Katie Moore
(Warren, PA/Warren) became the seventh
women's basketball player at Pitt-Bradford to
reach the 1,000-point plateau in a 58-52 loss to
Thiel College on Saturday. Moore needs
nine points to move into sixth place on the
school's all-time career list.
