PRESEASON COACHES' POLL

MEDAILLE COLLEGE PICKED TO DEFEND  AMCC MEN'S SOCCER TITLE

Medaille College
is expected to repeat as Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference men's soccer champions, according to the AMCC preseason coaches’ poll.  Lake Erie College, the runners-up in last year's title game, was picked to finish second and Penn State Behrend was selected a close third.

Preseason Player of the Year honors were awarded to Medaille College striker Cory Cwiklinski (Lancaster HS/Lancaster, NY).  The AMCC's leading goal scorer (21) and second leading overall scorer (48 points) in 2005, Cwiklinski led the Mavericks to their first conference title and first NCAA tournament bid.  He was named the league's Player of the Year, earning both regional and national All-American honors.

The AMCC, celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2006-07, kicks off conference play on Saturday, September 23.  The conference championship will be Saturday, November 4 at the highest remaining seed.  The winner will receive the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
