 FROSTBURG STATE AIMS FOR
SIXTH STRAIGHT AMCC CROWN
 


For the sixth year in a row, Frostburg State University is predicted to successfully defend their women's soccer title, according to the 2006 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference pre-season coaches’ poll.  The Bobcats' perennial nemesis Penn State Behrend is again expected to challenge from the #2 spot, with La Roche College pressing as the #3.

Preseason Player of the Year honors were awarded to Frostburg State's Jen Naylor (St. Mary's HS/Riva, MD).  The junior midfielder was a first team all-conference selection last season, scoring 7 goals and 2 assists in 20 starts for the Bobcats.

The AMCC, celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2006-07, kicks off conference play on Saturday, September 23.  The conference championship will be Saturday, November 4 at the highest remaining seed.  The winner will receive the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
