2010 WOMEN'S SOCCER
PRESEASON COACHES' POLL

 PENN STATE BEHREND CHOSEN
TO WIN AMCC TITLE

Penn State Behrend, which has won the league crown six times and was the regular season champion in 2009, has been voted by the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference coaches to rule the league in 2010.  Penn State Altoona, the 2008 champion, was selected as the runner up, and Medaille College was picked to finish third.

Preseason Player of the Year honors are shared by a pair of midfielders:  Penn St. Altoona junior Elizabeth Watt (Harleysville, PA/Souderton), left, and Hilbert College junior Alyssa Hulbert (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East), right.  Watt was a first team All-AMCC selection last season and was also named a first team All-ECAC South Region all star.  She was ranked second on the team in both assists (8) and goals (9).   Hulbert was a second team all-conference player in 2009.  Voted the team's MVP, she ranked second on the squad in scoring (14 points) and first in assists (6), also earning academic all-conference team honors.

The AMCC kicks off conference play on Saturday, September 25, and the championship will be Saturday, November 6, hosted by the number #1 seed.  The winner will receive the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
